Hey, thanks for taking time to get to know our Youth Ministries better.  The First Baptist Church of Austin has a rich history of taking good care of her youth.  It’s wild to consider all of the lives that God has touched through this ministry.   Still is!  The same God is reaching toward your life this very moment with the same deep friendship, healing love, and hope.   

We hope these pages let you know what we’re up to together these days so your friendship with God will grow closer.  That really sums up what our Youth Ministry is all about… a growing friendship with the living God.  

Our big plan is simple.  We start each Fall with the purpose of drawing in, and gathering friends, new and old.  Each week toward Christmas moves us to a clearer focus on Christ’s presence in creation and within us.  The Spring term we begin looking and preparing for how we’ll put our growing faith to work.  And the Summer is all about getting outside of our church and doing it,  -living our faith. 

The team that serves, teaches and cares for our kids also loves them.  And their faith is contagious.  Like any team there are many parts.  Our church Ministerial Staff loves kids and enjoys spending time in our Student Ministries. The Youth Committee co-ordinates all of our work.  They roll up their sleeves to get it done with other parents of youth and often with laughter.  Our teaching faculty listens first, catches up with our kids at their ball games and concerts and often open their homes. Then last, but truly not least, there is the crew of adults who travel with us as sponsors and counselors.  This crew freely trades vacation time, sleep, and time with the rest of their family for the sake of our kids and their faith.  Yip, we have a great team and this ministry is an fantastic adventure!
